Understanding Energetic Bindings: How Cords, Contracts, and Implants Affect Our Lives

Energy, in and of itself, is movement—and through that movement, information is received. Whether we simplify it down to a light switch turning on a lamp or plugging in a vacuum, the same principle holds true in communication, relationships, and our engagement with others.

We are constantly sending and receiving information, even when we are engaging with ourselves—through what we think, feel, say, and do. You are a conduit of energy, transmitting information at all times.

When a signal becomes blocked, clogged, or experiences a kind of short in the system, we can misfire or bind to something that is not our own. Just as a short in a wire can cause a light to flicker or work intermittently, the same holds true within us.

Bindings come in many forms, what is holding you back?
Bindings come in many forms, what is holding you back?

There are many types of bindings that can hold us back from being our authentic selves. It is through recognizing who we truly are that we are blessed with the opportunity to heal.

A binding is something within our energetic field that affects us on a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual level. Bindings often show up as cords, contracts, implants, or breaks within our energetic field.

We come into life already corded. Our first cord is to our mother through the umbilical cord—a physical cord that is visible. However, we also form energetic cords through our subtle body—cords that are invisible, yet can be felt and witnessed on an intuitive level. Energy flows through these cords with others. Sometimes they appear healthy: thin, golden, and flexible. At other times, these cords can be as large as a garden hose—or even a sewer pipe—where each interaction with a particular person leaves us feeling depleted, as if our life force is being drained. In these cases, we are either giving our energy away or having it taken from us. Either way, these cords are unhealthy and do not serve our highest good.

We also have the capacity to cord ourselves across lifetimes—connecting our present self to a past incarnation. This can result in repeating similar dramas or traumas in this lifetime because they were never healed in a previous one. These cords can be addressed through timeline healing and the Akashic Records, allowing us to release repetitive experiences and give ourselves permission to move forward, free from individualized karmic bindings.

Have you ever experienced a relationship where you feel drawn to someone without a clear explanation, often resulting in an unhealthy, codependent dynamic? This is often a cord formed through an unspoken contract. It can feel as though you are giving your life force energy away without control, boundaries, or limitations. In essence, you give up your “self”—your essence. This can appear in relationships such as a mother and adult child, a child who must parent their parent, or partnerships where one person continually overextends themselves without a rational reason. These bindings can keep us stuck in repetitive loops, unsure of how to move forward or break free from the cycle.

Implants are exactly what they sound like—energetic objects embedded within the energy body. They may be located in an organ, muscle, or chakra and often appear as instruments or forms such as metal, tar, wood, or geometric shapes. Implants can hold us in fixed or limiting belief systems, such as unworthiness, preventing healing in specific areas of the body. This can manifest as persistent pain, pressure, or discomfort, even after repeated medical visits that result in a clean bill of health. In these cases, it may be a sign that the root cause is mental or emotional, buried deep within the subconscious.

So how do you reclaim yourself—your life force energy? How do you remove implants, cords, or unspoken contracts?

The first step is recognition. Awareness alone is at least fifty percent of the transformational process. Removing bindings through Divine Love and replacing them with healing energy is essential to your well-being. Give yourself permission to step in a new direction and pave the way for healing.

Allow yourself to change. Ask your spirit guides, the Supreme Being, or your Higher Self to release what no longer serves you. Allow stagnant or “sticky” energy to be transformed and recycled for your own growth. Give yourself permission to create a shift—to turn the page of your life and begin a new chapter where you are supported, loved, and aligned with both yourself and the Divine.
