We observe patterns in many aspects of our lives, including our emotions and feelings. Think of a quilt: its sewn patterns of fabric create a rhythm or wave, forming a repeating design within a structured form. Similarly, energetic patterns exist in our lives. While a quilt serves to provide comfort, personalization, and color, the patterns in our energetic field can sometimes be detrimental. Negative thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and emotions can intertwine, creating strongholds that leave us feeling stuck and bound, leading to challenging situations. Just as the exterior edge of a quilt holds its pattern, our energetic bindings play a similar role.
To understand these energetic bindings better, we need to examine the concepts that create them. This exploration will help us comprehend how information entering our mental and emotional spaces acts like thread, weaving together habits, patterns, and addictions in a disharmonious way. It is essential to grasp a few key concepts to move forward in this understanding.

Thoughts
What is a thought? A thought is a single idea we have about something, whether it’s related to an experience or an outcome. Thoughts can be felt and are often accessed based on our previous experiences, leading us to create a storyline from the information that has entered our energetic field.
Feelings can be seen as a subset of thoughts, representing the patterns that emerge from our initial thoughts. How we choose to respond to these feelings is another important aspect to consider. Just as we cut out various shapes and patterns to see how a quilt fits together, looking for rhythm, movement, and balance, our work with feelings can create beliefs through emotions. These beliefs develop as we process our experiences within our emotional and mental energetic fields.
If we break down feelings into broader categories, we identify the categories of Fear, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, and Happiness. As we explore emotions further, we can see that anger may manifest as irritations, frustrations, or other reactions.
Emotions
Emotions arise when feelings and beliefs come together, much like stitching two patterns together. In this process, we combine these elements to create an extension developed in our mental bodies. Strong feelings can shift our reality, and this shift can have either a positive or negative effect, depending on the direction of the emotional frequency.
When we apply strong emotions in a healthy manner, we can break through a stronghold, allowing ourselves to heal. This healing can happen by redirecting our energy, seeking spiritual assistance, or moving in a different direction. However, emotions can also negatively impact our reality through the stories we tell ourselves to maintain that stronghold. Such narratives can distort our perception, create physical ailments, and lead to pain that affects our lives, resulting in a series of problems and issues stemming from the stronghold.
This binding can trap an individual in a pattern, leaving them uncertain about how to unravel the stitched elements that initially formed the stronghold.
Patterns
Patterns are repetitive thoughts or feelings that can limit us. While we can cultivate healthy patterns—such as caring for ourselves, working through our experiences, or maintaining a consistent exercise routine—other patterns can trap us in a cycle of similar situations. Just like a fixed pattern stitched into a piece of fabric, these negative patterns can lead to repeated experiences and consistent responses.
Strongholds
Strongholds refer to these fixed patterns. When practiced consistently, they become habits, and when these habits are negatively ingrained, they can create problems in our daily lives. Since we are dealing with our mental and emotional states, it's important to understand how strongholds affect these aspects of our being differently.
Mental strongholds occur when two or more beliefs are intertwined, preventing us from thriving and achieving the career we desire. These strongholds connect a thought and a belief. For example, the thought might be “I am unworthy.” This can lead to the belief that “I am unworthy of having the job I’ve always wanted,” which may stem from a fear of applying for new positions due to anxiety about not being accepted even for an interview. As a result, the mental framework creates strongholds rooted in this thought and belief tied to unworthiness. This can cause the individual to lower their vibrational frequency and remain stuck in a fixed pattern, such as a career that leaves them feeling unfulfilled, thereby justifying why they cannot attain what they truly desire.
Emotional strongholds arise from these mental strongholds, as the idea becomes entrenched and sabotages the individual through their own thought patterns. Emotional strongholds are often more powerful than mental strongholds and can halt any growth from occurring. For example, someone might stay in a miserable job for twenty years, keeping themselves stuck and hindering their personal evolution.
You can likely see why strongholds are so challenging to break free from. If you think of it in terms of quilting, it would be like trying to rip apart all the individual threads used to sew the original quilt, removing all the stitching from the patterned squares. This example illustrates that we experience strongholds on a physical level. Living with these limitations can be painful as we find ourselves trapped in a mindset where breaking free seems uncertain.
To begin healing ourselves, we must change and alter our patterns. This involves using consciousness to bring awareness, action, and capability into our energetic field, allowing for personal adjustments.
We need to attach healthy feelings to our old beliefs, strongholds, and the stories we continuously tell ourselves. By introducing a healthier new belief, feeling, or narrative, we can build the internal power necessary to state and maintain a higher frequency aligned with our new truth. This shift permits us to change, alter, and release the old patterns that have kept us stuck in a limited state of being.
By raising our vibration to align with our new positive beliefs, we can overcome the negative effects of strongholds and give ourselves permission to heal. As we bring this new energy into our conscious awareness, we are making a definitive choice for ourselves that counteracts old habits and programming.
